In June and July of 2018 I completed an internship with the ABC in their offices in Ultimo, Sydney. During the first week I worked with the Catalyst team, working mostly in production and development but I was also able to go on several shoots for different episodes. In my second week I moved over to the Radio National and Digital Science team where I learnt more about their research and publication process alongside the Top 5 Under 40, and published several articles including those below.

This quiz was a lot of fun to write, I love the little stories that often come with the names of species and there were quite a few really funny ones that I would have loved to add in if we'd been able to find photos of them.

This quiz was very popular online and was featured on the ABC News Homepage and Twitter. It was also made into its own Instagram Story Quiz for the ABC.

Here are some photos from the episode of Catalyst I helped on set as an extra in. The episode is called How To Be Lucky: The Maths Of Chance, and was hosted by Lily Serna. This segment was filmed at Clovelly Lawn Bowls Club and was co-presented by Dr Sophie Calabretto. It was really valuable to see first hand how such a high quality show is filmed and produced and I had a lot of fun too. You can watch the full show on ABC Iview or on the Catalyst website.
